[Version 2] Gift with product (Free Gift) offer

1. What is Gift with product (Free Gift) offer?

A Gift with product (Free Gift) offer can encourage purchases. It allows customers to make their own selections or automatically add a free gift to the cart.


2. How to setup an Free Gift offer?

Step 1: Create offer

Let's start creating a new offer by clicking on the "Create Offer" button on Dashboard. It will automatically redirect you to the "Manage offers" tab.  Or you can directly access to "Manage offers" tab through the left sidebar. Choose "Gift with product" and click the "Create" button on the selected offer type.


Step 2: Offer Settings

  1. Offer title and subtitle: 

            You can set the title and subtitle for your offer to to encourage customers to purchase additional products or services.


  1. Receiving behavior: 

            You can choose automatically adding Free gifts to cart when customers meet the requirements (without selecting variants) and click on ATC button or allow customers to select variants or certain number of gifts.


  1. Promo banner:

            There will be a banner displayed above the "Add to cart" button for popup layout and below the Free gift offer's title for embed layout on the product page to promote the free gift offer.

  1. Congratulation message:

           The congratulation message only show up with "Automatically" receiving behavior in the popup layout after free gifts are successfully added to cart.

  1. Customer buys:

            Free gift will be given to customers once they add the trigger product to cart.
      1. All products: All products will trigger the free gift offer
      2. Collections: All products in the selected collections will trigger the free gift offer
      3. Product Tags: All products has selected product tags will trigger the free gift offer
      4. Specific products: Select specific products you want to trigger the free gift offer (multiple select)

  1. Customer gets:

            Here you will choose the product you want to make free gift. You can search the product or browse the products from list. More than one product can be selected.


  1. Combinations:

If you want to let customers combine different discounts together, please enable this option. You can select to combine this offer's discount with: Product discounts, Order discounts or Shipping discounts.

  1. Advanced settings:

    1. Limit receive free gift once per order: By enabling this feature, customers will only receive one gift per order even if there are multiple trigger products in that order.
    2. Limit receive free gift once per trigger item: By enabling this feature, you can limit customers to receive free gift one time for the same trigger product. If adding different trigger products, customers still get the gifts.
    3. Display conditions: When enabling conditions, the offer will only be displayed when the conditions are met.
    4. Max discount uses: The maximum number of times the discount can be used in total.

  1. Schedule: 

           You can set the date the offer will start and end there.


  1. Enable Countdown: Turn on this option to have a countdown timer in the Sub-title. You can also customize the the countdown position in Sub-title section.

  1. Extras:

  1. Discount badge: Here you can set up the badge for your offer item.

    1. Customer eligibility: You can select specific customers or customer segments that can use this discount.


Notes
For your information, all offers, includng those with specific customer eligibility, will be visible to all customers. This is because these offers are designed for upselling and need to be seen by everyone. When customers log in or enter their email on the Checkout page, only then will Shopify check the segment and check whether the discount is eligible or not.

Step 3: Save Settings

Once you've finished all the steps, click on the "Save" button on the top right corner or "Save Offer" button on the bottom right of the page. Your offer is now created!
