Before using Booster Kit app, let's find out what upsell and cross-sell meaning.
Upsell encourages customers to purchase a comparable higher-end product than the one they're choosing.
For example: your customer only wants to buy an iPhone X. But if you can sell the iPhone 13, you will get more commission. So you must offer them to buy the iPhone13 at the best price. And finally, your customer chooses the iPhone13 instead of the original product they want.
Not as the upsell offer, cross-sell invites customers to buy related or complementary items. With this method, businesses can sell even so much more products.
For instance: After your customer decides on that iPhone13, the seller will invite them to purchase more add-on products such as case, airpod, etc, which can be used with the iPhone13.
Now you understand what is upsell and cross-sell in business. Both of these sale methods have the same purpose: to help businesses sell more products/services inspite of their different methods of use and operation.
As in our Booster Kit app, the Upsell and Cross-sell offers have different operation ways.
Upsell will pop up and suggest your customer upgrade to another product. Whenever your customer clicks on the "Upgrade" button, their original product will be replaced immediately by the item in the upsell offer. That's why when you check on your cart, you won't see the item you added before.
There are two display options for upsell offers: clicking on the "Add to Cart" button or the "Checkout" button.
So how about the Cross-sell offer? Does it make your original product disappear when we check out?
No, of course. The cross-sell offer will suggest your customers add more items to their carts and boost sales really well. You can add one, two, three, etc, or as many as products you want.
Where does the upsell display?
Not only pop up when clicking on the "Add to Cart" or "Checkout" button, but Cross-sell can also be displayed on Thank you page. So businesses can recommend more items before your customers leave your stores.
Now you can separate the Upsell and Cross-sell offers. Let's find out how to set them up in our next
